This picture brings back special memories of Crimson Deed's mother
- CRIMSON HUE winning the Sonoma Stakes which was the equivalent of the Canadian Derby for 3 year old fillies.

Dr. Brenda E. Abbey and every Alberta professional involved in the Racing for a Cause project were dreaming of Crimson Deed following in her champion mother's hoof prints !! Crimson Deed was a longshot winner at Northlands Park and she made many  racing fans happy with her $ 57.00 payoff for a $2.00 bet.

2016 racing season  ***It starts with a DREAM...

A new 3 year old POTENTIAL star is on the horizon for the 2016 racing season .The 3 year old gelding named ALYMORE  is also sired by Alydeed- **  legendary sire and winner of the 1992 Queen's Plate by 11 1/2 lengths.
ALYMORE   is another   of  owner/ breeder ,Dr. Brenda E. Abbey's Alberta  home breds. ALYMORE's Dam { Avonmore} is  from the black type producing female family that produced her half- brother- fan favourite ** Mocha John  ** Alberta multiple Allowance level race winner and Stakes placed performer .
While Dr. Abbey sold Mocha John in the CTHS Alberta yearling sale , she remained a great fan of his and  continued to benefit from Alberta breeder's bonuses for every race that  Mocha John  won or placed  2nd or 3rd. Mocha John placed each year in the Alberta Breeders' Fall Classic Day stakes races { purses of $ 50,000 each} as a 2 , 3 and 4 year old  and continued running and winning  through his 7 year old year. Tragically Mocha John died at the age of 8 from colic.
ALYMORE is Mocha John's NEPHEW  and he  has a speed and stamina pedigree . ALYMORE   will begin racing in the  2016 . As an Alberta bred , the goal is for him to run in the ALBERTA Beaufort   Stake race , part of the  Alberta Bred Fall Classic Day race series in September 2016   as well.

As we look toward the next racing season for 2012 , Crimson Deed will be the Racing For A Cause Alberta Project Racehorse for the season. There will be many events for people involved in Racing For A Cause , both at the breeding farm where she was born as well as at the racetrack backstretch. Crimson Deed's story from an ORPHAN to a Racehorse will be the focus of the NEW Children's Therapy Picture Book called " In My Mother's Hoofprints". The new book will be available to order on line as a hard or softcover , as well as an E- BOOK !

The 2012 racing season started off with lots of emotion about Crimson Deed. At Northlands Park on Mother's day , Crimson Deed went out of the starting gate for gate approval with a jockey for the first time. As she was running down the home stretch 10 lengths in front of the company horses from the starting gate , i had tears in my eyes , she looked so much like her mother- it was if her mother's spirit was running with her.On June 30, 2012 she circled the feild closing determinedly in the home stretch and was a longshot winner in her second lifetime start, a $2.00 win bet paid $ 57.80 and the exacta paid $ 396. . There were a lot of happy supporters of her !!

As Racing for A Cause 2012 racehorse , part of Crimson Deed's recent purse winnings will be a charitable donation to the University of Alberta Hospital's Brain Cancer research.
The donation will be made in memory of Ricky Hansen, who was her mother Crimson Hue's groom during her racing career. Sadly , no current medication therapy would work to suppress Ricky's brain cancer and he passed away last year.
Research will make a difference for the future pursuit of a CURE and Crimson Deed's racing is contributing to the CAUSE !!
