LOOKING BACK
MEMORABLE MOTHER"S DAY 2012- Black Letter WORKOUT - which means the time was the best of the day. Crimson Deed's first workout with jockey Perry Winters from the gate - Northlands Park . Perry Winters commented -" Crimson Deed has a long stride and was so smooth that I didn't realize how fast she was going until I looked at the ground she covered." As she ran so easily down the home stretch to the wire - many lengths ahead of her work mates- the image was just like her Alberta Champion Mother Crimson Hue !!
This was an exciting project designed to be EDUCATIONAL and to promote an interest in Thoroughbreds *** hoping to get new people involved in the excitement and social aspects of Thoroughbred Racing in Alberta.
We had many events and day trips to the farm , training center and racetrack that brought a more personal connection to the people and wonderful horses involved in our breeding , training and racing industry. Participants had a chance to meet the Alberta Thoroughbreds with Famous ROYAL BLOODLINES !!
IT STARTS WITH A DREAM " A Racehorse is an animal that can take several thousand people for a ride at the same time !"
*** 2012 racing season RACEHORSE was Alberta - Bred filly " Crimson Deed" - daughter of Alberta Champion Filly Crimson Hue. Crimson Deed followed in her mother's HOOFPRINTS as a FAN favourite !! Many Edmonton race fans profited from her LONGSHOT win on June 30, 2012 - paying $ 57.80 for a $2.00 bet !!
From Crimson Deed's win on June 30 , 2012 , a charitable donation was made to support Brain Research at the University of Alberta to find better treatments and a cure for Brain Cancer.{ in memory of Ricky Hansen -her mother Crimson Hue's groom who sadly passed away in 2011.} *** Above see paddock picture Ricky Hansen and Crimson Hue prior to her Stakes win in the M.R. Jenkins Stakes Race in Calgary's Stampede Park May,2001.} ****See PHOTO GALLERY part 1 & 2 on this website for more farm and training pictures.
